The Rights of the Elderly Campaign
As part of the «Towards The Human Rights Protection of a Vulnerable Population: The Elderly of Lebanon» project which was implemented by IDRAAC with the support of the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) program of the United States Department of State, IDRAAC has launched the “Rights of the Elderly” national awareness campaign.
The main slogan of the campaign was an Arabic translation of "Don't lose your rights even if you lose your mental capacity" (7atta law dayya3et, ma tdaye3 7a22ak) which is a message to older people to defend their rights and a message to their relatives to respect them.
The campaign included three TV and radio advertisements which raised awareness on the importance of respecting the rights of the elderly, TV and radio interviews with members of the IDRAAC team, social media and online campaign on various sites, outdoor billboards, banners, dissemination of an awareness booklet, creation of a website section, mass emailing and SMS campaign. A hotline was also opened throughout the campaign for elderly who wish to know more about their rights or need support in any legal, social or health issue.
