Josleen is currently a PhD candidate in epidemiology, with a master’s degree in public health specializing in epidemiology and biostatistics. As the research coordinator at IDRAAC, she brings over five years of research experience in mental health. Her primary research interests include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and the impacts of life and childhood adversities on mental health outcomes.
Through her role at IDRAAC, Josleen has contributed to a wide range of publications that have advanced the understanding of mental health issues in various populations. She is passionate about advancing evidence-based public health practices and ensuring that her research translates into meaningful impact for vulnerable communities.
In addition to her research, Josleen is committed to mentoring future public health professionals, providing guidance and training to students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She also plays an active role in supporting medical students rotating through Saint George Hospital University Medical Center, helping to bridge the gap between clinical experience and research.
