Les Orphelins De La Guerre Experience Libanaise et Méthodologie D’un Suivi Prospectif.
Abstract
This article presents in details a long-term multidisciplinary group treatment approach that has been conceptualized on the basis of empirical data for a specific group of children and adolescents that were traumatized by a war that made them brutally become orphans. These empirical data were obtained through yearly phases of clinical therapeutic evaluation. The major dimensions of the program, the methods of assessment and follow up and the statistical findings about the prevalence of mental disorders at each phase of the program are described. Prospective clinical observations related to how this particular group evolved with time are reported. The obstacles as well as the major assets of this program are also discussed.
