The 6 day war fought in 1967 between Israel and the Arab countries produced very few psychiatric causalities. High standards in the selection process and extremely high motivation where causalities did occur treatment consisted of rest, tranquilization, and hypnotherapy. Some psychiatric depressions were noted after the battle and were considered acute exemplars of a general left down. Psychiatric problems with prisoners of war and refugees are described along with methods used to deal with them.
