Administered the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire to 248 students at Cairo University to study the factorial structure of this scale in Egypt. Principal factor analysis and varimax rotations of the 80 items and total scores of Psychoticism, Extraversion, and Neuroticism scales yielded 10 factors, of which 8 are meaningful: Cultural Responses, Neuroticism, Psychoticism, Extraversion, Physical Complaints, Paranoid Hostility, Adjustment, and Manifest Anxiety/Tension. It is suggested that in Egypt, extraversion tendencies resemble those of psychoticism. Results also suggest that the Egyptian personality structure may be prone to oversensitivity, superstition, and concern for socially approved behavior and social desirability.
