Attempts to shed some light on the intrapsychic drama that unfolded in Akhnaton, namely the repressed longing for his father and the return of such an impulse in the guise of a complex delusional system with a passive wish to be impregnated by his father. This took form in a vast spiritual system similiar to the pathological theology of President Schreber, Freud's famous case study. A parallelism is suggested between Akhnaton's solar theology and Schreber's heliotropic ideation.
