Interviews were conducted with groups of girls of comparatively high status in Middle East institutions of higher learning. "There is . . . a steady, undramatic move towards emancipation among the women of the Middle East. There is . . . a genuine desire for freedom from some of the traditional restrictions." Attitudes of Moslems and Christians are compared, and the views of Arabic men and of United States respondents are also discussed.
