Handicapped people in Jordan: The present situation.

Discusses current conditions and problems faced by handicapped individuals in Jordan. The educational system and the prevalence of disabilities are described. Major problems involve the lack of information, comprehensive programming, and community and consumer involvement. Recent progress in medical and social services and in enhancing interagency collaboration is outlined. It is concluded that education efforts for the handicapped have helped bring about a more promising outlook for this population.
