Discusses cultural conceptions of mental illness based on a survey of 60 Ss ages 20-35 yrs in the modern urbanized sector of Morocco and 60 Ss 50 yrs old and older in the old sector. Ss were asked 45 questions about the etiology, symptoms, and treatment of different types of behavioral disorders. The finding indicate that the introduction of Western psychology in Morocco has led to sociocultural changes and new conceptions of mental illness. (English abstract) (12 ref)
