The author, a psychoanalytically oriented ethnopsychiatrist, discusses the case of the conflictual migration of a young Arab resident of France who suffered from anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders attributed by him to a witch's spells. Despite the cultural ramifications of his symptoms, the S's case and others like it must be regarded as infrapsychic conflicts, ruled by the universal laws of the unconscious.
