"Dalida: Back to LIFE": IDRAAC’s 4th Annual Fundraising Dinner
This fundraising event was entitled "Dalida: Back to LIFE" and took place on September 16, 2012 at LIFE Beirut.
The event was a huge success with over 750 attendees. The aim of this fundraising event was to increase awareness about depression, an issue that is so ever present in our society.
As this year marked the 25th anniversary of Dalida’s tragic death after her battle with depression, IDRAAC used this fundraising event to celebrate her life by bringing her "Back to LIFE."
After her sold out shows at Martinez, Majestic, Carlton, the Festivalde Cannes and now LIFE Beirut, Sandy Sims, the most acclaimed impersonator of Dalida, and her 4 dancers stormed the stage with an exceptional and accurate performance. The event celebrated life through Dalida’s timeless performances with the star’s multilingual songs, as well as her classical and American show-girl repertoire. The 2-hour show featured more than 30 of Dalida’s best French and Arabic hits. Attendees of all ages sang, cheered and danced, while enjoying the seated dinner and open bar.
Throughout the night, people were encouraged to make donations, and for every donation raffle tickets were handed out. A draw occurred on 17 valuable prizes after the show. The top 3 prizes were: Noor Fares jewelry, a watch by Paolo Bonjia and Dalida Memorabilia. All donations were used to fund activities targeted at decreasing the stigma of mental health disorders in Lebanon.
