We are pleased to announce the successful implementation
The workplace is a critical environment where individuals spend a significant portion of their lives. It serves as the hub for joining skills, talents, and professional growth. However, it can also be a source of stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. Recognizing the pressing need for mental health support in professional settings, IDRAAC is pioneering the "Mental Health in the Workplace" project.
This program sheds light on the intricate relationship between mental health and the workplace, building upon the foundation laid by the National Mental Health Programme and the World Health Organization in 2019 through their National Mental Health in the Workplace initiative.
Mental health is not merely an individual concern; it significantly impacts the productivity and well-being of an organization. The Mental Health in the Workplace program, led by expert trainers, Psychiatrist Dr. Georges Karam and Clinical Psychologist Dr. Zaher Krayem, offers vital insights into recognizing common mental health conditions.
During the training, participants gain skills to identify workplace stressors, understand the impact of stress, devise policies that promote mental health and productivity, and develop competencies such as self-care, stress management, and effective communication to support colleagues and encourage them to seek help.
These acquired skills are not only beneficial for individuals but also for the organizations they serve. Employees who feel supported and valued are more likely to be engaged and productive, ultimately fostering a healthier work environment and overall success for the organization.
Our specialized program is designed to empower participants to become trainersand advocates for Mental Health in their workplaces. This enables them to disseminate the knowledge and tools acquired during the training within their workplace. By nurturing this network of individuals who are passionate about promoting mental health within their organizations, we aim to create a wave effect that will improve mental health in workplaces across the region.
The positive impact of this initiative extends beyond the individual organizations involved. It has the potential to reshape the corporate landscape, fostering a culture of mental health awareness and support.
