Children and War

Abstract
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder is probably the most prevalent illness in children and war. Some recent reports suggest that its effects might be prolonged and generalized. The criteria used to establish this diagnosis in children as well as in adults are:

• A person has experienced an event that is outside of the range of the usual human experience And would be markedly distressing almost to anyone.

• The t0raumatic event is constantly re-experienced in one of the ways listed in the article.

This article gives an overview about this illness in the case of children and war.
